Dental Crowns

Crafted for Strength, Designed for Life

A dental crown is essentially a custom-fitted cap placed over a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its shape, strength, and appearance. Think of it as reinforcement for your tooth—protecting it from further damage and restoring full function.

Nowadays, dental crowns can be crafted from a wide variety of materials, including ceramic, porcelain, and resin. Resin dental crowns are typically temporary, and ceramic dental crowns have a strong track record of looking closer to your natural teeth than certain porcelain options.

Our crowns are made from IPS e.max® and Zirconia, both of which are highly regarded for functional and aesthetic qualities. We have everything needed to create durable, long-lasting crowns tailored to you.

Dental Crown Options

When a tooth is weakened, cracked, or needs extra support after a procedure, a dental crown can make all the difference. Here’s a look at the types of crowns we offer and what makes each one a solid choice.

IPS E. Max®

Made from a material called lithium disilicate, these types of crowns sport translucent properties that make for a cohesive,natural-looking smile.

Zirconia

This newer type of ceramic material boasts high strength and biocompatibility. These crowns can be easily modified to your unique smile.

Same-Day Crowns

CEREC® milling machines can sculpt custom restorations from blocks of ceramic or porcelain. We use this innovative technology to design and fabricate dental crowns in a single appointment. With us, you won’t need a temporary crown or a second appointment to get your final restoration.

"Fantastic service at Aesthetic Family Dentistry. I’ve been going here for about 12 years. Every member of staff makes you feel well cared for and looked after. They are so good with kids too!"

Dental Crown FAQs

What’s the most durable type of crown?

Metal crowns and Zirconia crowns are typically thought of as the toughest, making them ideal for molars or teeth that endure a lot of pressure.

With good, regular care, most crowns last between 10 and 15 years on average. Some, like metal and Zirconia crowns, can last even longer.

No, crowns are designed to blend in seamlessly with your natural teeth. Porcelain and zirconia crowns, in particular, are nearly indistinguishable.

How long does it take to get a dental crown?

We offer same-day crowns, so you can leave with a crown during one single appointment. Whereas other dental facilities typically take two separate visits with a lengthy waiting period.

The crown placement is typically done under local anesthesia, so you’ll feel minimal discomfort during the process. We have sedation options available as well.

If your crown comes loose from the tooth or falls off completely, preserve the crown and contact our Wasilla office immediately. In most cases, our dentist can cement it back in place.
